We all find ourselves in very uncertain times with the current coronavirus situation.  Travel restrictions and cancelled holidays, schools trying out learning from home and offices closing for employees to work from home.  No one really knows how it will all unfold.

Tech Team

Do you need to have staff working from home?  Do you have the correct hardware and software to make this happen?  If not call, our tech team who can discuss what options are available to you for remote access

Things to think about in relation to technology and working from home:

  1. Phone systems – Talk to your provider about redirecting your PABX  and direct it to the appropriate staff members mobile
  2. Phone systems – If running a VOIP system your provider may be able to redirect calls to a soft phone on your laptop
  3. Provide a list of all staff mobile/phone contacts to offsite staff
  4. Consider any additional costs that staff may be incurring for phones etc
  5. Beware that some home computers are not equipped with appropriate security and may open up your Business network to security breaches
  6. Internet Speed at home will vary and impact both home and office speeds
  7. Obviously, some software will not be available to be worked on remotely. Eg Autocad
  8. With the large demand for cloud access we are expecting many cloud service providers will not be able to provide the service or may suffer due to lack of band width
  9. Many hardware suppliers are already struggling with limited stock for anyone needing to purchase additional equipment

You can employ an automated chat robot to respond to customer queries or collect customer data over social media platforms like Facebook or your company website (proving to be the most popular small business channel)

This is a stressful time for everyone.  How to keep everyone employed, be safe and still be productive? We have received many requests from our clients to assist them in the HR planning, creating a Coronavirus policy and toolbox/staff meeting to discuss with staff what the plan will be if there is no work?  If your staff needs to work from home or remotely, do you have an IT policy that will protect your business?
